I'm sure most of us would disagree with the ranking of some of these composers. I know I do, but it was fun to watch. Thanks for sharing. Yeah. Guess we should be even grateful that Elmer got an honorable mention and that Jerry made the list! But no Miklos Rozsa? Silvestri at #5? What?? I really like 9 out the 10 composers listed, and I own many of their scores, but I would never had put Goldsmith and Morricone at 9 and 10 behind Shore, J N Howard (who is my favorite living composer), Zimmer, Silvestri or Elfman. And Elfman as number 2? I am not knocking these composers. They are good to excellent, but the placement or ranking seems odd to me. IMHO Of course, I would have had Bernstein in the group. Also Rozsa and Alfred Newman. Also, is seemed like the video had Goldsmith composing the songs in Mulan which is odd. I did like that fact that the narrator heralded the variety of scores each composer composed. She showed their versatility for scoring various genres. This video just shows one person's personal taste or preference and that's fine. We all do that. | | | | | | | Posted: | Feb 5, 2015-9:40 AM | | | By: | edwzoomom(Member) | Agreed, Yavar. After my daughter and I went over the top 10 in the video, she shook her head and said "I can't believe that Alan Menken isn't on that list!". This coming from a kid who owned and watched every Disney movie out there! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | General Discussion:Forgive me - it's not my "Mojo" | | First Post |
